I have been cooking since childhood. I first became a vegetarian about 1976, and quickly learned to cook great food. I first became a vegan about 1989, after reading The McDougall Plan by Dr. John McDougall. I found this way of cooking more challenging than vegetarian cooking. I went away and came back to the low fat vegan diet several times. Meanwhile, i learned higher fat vegan cooking. After about 20 years, i have finally learned low fat vegan cooking that tastes good! I hope you will learn to enjoy it too.
I have lost 54 pounds from my highest weight mostly with a low fat vegan diet and am continuing to loose weight.
Thank you so much to my husband, who encouraged me, and set up this blog for me. Thanks to my good friends Melissa, my muse, and Tys, who helped me eat up my experiments. Thanks to Mom, who encouraged me, read long pages of menus, and taught me to cook in the first place. And a special thanks to Talking Mountain, who asked me on October 29th if i had a blog and started the whole thing…
